Suspected serial killer Takahiro Shiraishi has been served a second murder warrant in connection with nine people whose bodies were found dismembered in his apartment in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The second warrant was issued over the slaying of Yokohama resident Kazumi Maruyama, 25, who disappeared on Oct. 18. Shiraishi, 27, allegedly killed Maruyama and stashed her body at his apartment in Zama. A cellphone believed to be hers was found in his room, investigative sources said.

Shiraishi, who has admitted to the slayings, was taken into custody in late October and arrested about three weeks later in connection with the slaying of Aiko Tamura, 23, who vanished on Oct. 23.

The case has sent shock waves across Japan.

Suspected Serial Killer’s Parents Refuse to Answer Questions

(TAMPA, Fla.) — The parents of the 24-year-old man suspected in a string of fatal shootings that terrorized a Florida neighborhood must “show cause” on why they shouldn’t be held in civil contempt for refusing to answer investigators’ questions about the case, a judge ruled Thursday.

Hillsborough County Judge Margaret Taylor set a Jan. 5 hearing for Howell Donaldson Jr. and Rosita Donaldson. State Attorney Andrew Warren requested the hearing after the Donaldsons refused on Tuesday to answer questions about their son, Howell Emanuel Donaldson III. Prosecutors were seeking information about his background, developmental history, gun possession and state of mind.

“This is a rarity,” State Attorney Andrew Warren said while addressing the issue on Wednesday. “Because most people understand that they have a duty to answer questions. And when that duty is explained to them by a judge, they’re willing to provide us answers.”

Ralph Fernandez, an attorney for the couple, said

Suspected Tampa serial killer Howell Donaldson III indicted in Seminole Heights murders, prosecutors say

A Florida grand jury has indicted the suspected Tampa serial killing with four counts of premeditated murder with a firearm, according to state prosecutors.

The Tampa Police Department previously charged Howard Donaldson III with four counts of murder in connection with the four shooting deaths that occurred between Oct. 9 and Nov. 14 in the Seminole Heights neighborhood after his arrest last week.

The grand jury has returned the indictment officially charging Donaldson, said State Attorney Andrew Warren in a press conference Thursday.

“The indictment means that the grand jury has found that probable cause exists, that the defendant committed each of these four murders,” he said.

Parents of suspected Tampa serial killer won’t talk about son

TAMPA — The parents of the 24-year-old man suspected in a string of fatal shootings that terrorized a Tampa neighborhood will go before a judge Thursday after refusing to answer questions about their son.

Investigators wanted to question Howell Donaldson Jr. and Rosita Donaldson on Tuesday about Howell Emanuel Donaldson III’s background, developmental history, gun possession and state of mind. But they refused, revealing only the names, addresses and birth dates of family members.

Unlike some states, Florida has no law establishing “parent-child privilege,” which would keep communications between them confidential.

“This is a rarity,” said State Attorney Andrew Warren. “Because most people understand that they have a duty to answer questions. And when that duty is explained to them by a judge, they’re willing to provide us answers.”

‘Just Why? Why?’ Parents of Suspected Serial Killer Say They Are ‘Devastated’

The parents of a Florida man accused of killing four people over the course of 36 days said in their first public interview Friday that they are “devastated” both for their son and for the families of his alleged victims.

Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, 24, was arrested on Nov. 29 for a string of killings in Tampa’s residential Seminole Heights neighborhood, after he asked a coworker at the McDonald’s where he was employed to hold on to a bag that contained the gun allegedly used in the killings. The coworker alerted a police officer who happened to be in the restaurant at the time, eventually leading to Donaldson’s arrest.

Days after his arrest, the suspect’s parents, Howell and Rosita Donaldson, spoke with the Tampa Bay Times about their son, whom they called Trai. During the interview, his parents both offered condolences to

Parents of suspected Tampa serial killer ‘devastated’ by his arrest

The parents of the suspected Tampa serial killer said Friday that they are “devastated” that their son has been charged in the shooting deaths of four people in the Seminole Heights neighborhood between Oct. 9 and Nov. 14.

Rosita Donaldson and Emanuel Donaldson, Jr. were accompanied their attorney, high-profile criminal defense lawyer Ralph Fernandez, during a brief press conference, in which they told reporters that the crimes their son is accused of committing are out of character for the 24-year-old who grew up in a good home heavily influenced by church and faith.

Police arrested Tampa native Howard Donaldson III and charged him with four counts of first-degree murder Tuesday after a manager at a Ybor City McDonald’s, Delonda Walker, alerted police that he had handed her a McDonald’s food bag containing a firearm, which authorities later matched to all four
