Police to wrap up search for alleged serial killer victims at Leaside home

Police have identified another Toronto property they’re interested in searching. “But it really was dependent whether or not we found anything here,” Idsinga said. “We’re going to wait for the weather to get a bit warmer, do some further forensic testing and decide whether we’re going to dig there or not.”

They have a few more tips to follow up on from individuals that believe they may have planters from McArthur in their possession, but not many. “It’s quieted down a little bit,” Idsinga said.

Meanwhile, the still-frosty weather has put a strain in particular on the police dogs working on the case. “With the dogs, they just don’t work that well when everything is frozen,” Idsinga said.

Investigators may revisit all the properties flagged in the investigation when the spring thaw hits, he told the Star.

“It depends what we find elsewhere, right?”

Idsinga has said repeatedly that police expect

Cold-Case Detectives Pursuing New Leads in Search for Serial Killer Suspected in 4 Goleta Slayings

Cold-case investigators are asking for the public’s help in pursuing their latest leads in the hunt for the Golden State Killer, a prolific serial rapist and murderer whose victims included at least four people slain in Goleta.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department recently announced that it has two new leads under active investigation in the search for the man dubbed the Golden State Killer, who also is known as the East Area Rapist and the Original Night Stalker.

All told, the Golden State Killer is suspected in at least 12 homicides, 45 rapes and more than 120 residential burglaries throughout California from 1976 to 1986, according to the FBI.

DNA evidence has been used to link the same person to many of the crimes, but the suspect’s identity remains unknown.

In Goleta, he is suspected of killing Dr. Robert Offerman,

Police search gardens for alleged serial killer victims

Toronto police said Monday they are hunting through backyard gardens and planters across the city for possible victims of a landscaper accused of murdering at least five people and suspected of killing more.

Bruce McArthur was charged Monday with the first-degree murder of three missing men, adding to two cases filed earlier.

Toronto Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga said at a news conference that the dismembered remains of at least three victims were found hidden in the bottom of large planters in the backyard of a Toronto home that McArthur, 66, used as storage for his landscaping business. He said the remains have not been identified.

Police have or plan to search about 30 properties where McArthur worked, Idsinga said, and he urged the man’s customers to contact police.

“We believe there are more remains at some of these properties that we are working to recover,” Idsinga said.

“We have seized quite a few planters from

(From Upper left to right) Benjamin Mitchell, Monica Hoffa, Anthony Naiboa and Ronald Felton were all gunned down in Seminole Heights.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Search warrants will remain sealed in the Seminole Heights serial murder case over concerns of investigative information being leaked.

All four victims were walking alone in the dark in the Seminole Heights community at the time they were each shot.

Donaldson was not in court for a status hearing on Wednesday morning. During a status hearing, state and defense attorneys can talk about things such as discovery (evidence), scheduled hearings and motions, trial dates and possible plea offers.

Vanished: Search for five women missing in Tacoma includes possibility of a serial killer

TACOMA — The discovery of a partial human skull last month in a wooded area in East Pierce County has reignited interest in solving some long-term missing persons cases.

Investigators won’t know if the skull fragment is from a man or a woman until DNA test results are complete.

“Anytime there are human remains found in the state, loved ones of missing persons from around the state and sometimes bordering states will reach out and make sure that we are making that comparison and ruling out or checking on their loved ones,” said Carrie Gordon with the Washington State Patrol’s Missing and Unidentified Persons Unit.

There are more than 1,800 missing persons statewide and 146 of those are women in Pierce County.

Investigators are taking a regional approach to try to solve these cases because serial offenders don’t pay attention to law enforcement jurisdictions.
