Roommate of alleged East Feliciana serial killer arrested; authorities say she stole thousands from him

A woman who was living with alleged East Feliciana serial killer Ryan Sharpe was arrested last week in the theft of at least $14,500 from his safe.

Robin Linder, 54, was booked Dec. 8 into East Feliciana Parish Jail on a count of felony theft, according to East Feliciana Parish Clerk of Court records. Her listed address matches that of Sharpe, at 14277 La. 959.

Sheriff Jeff Travis said Linder broke into the safe to steal several thousand dollars from Sharpe, 36. However, Travis emphasized that investigators do not believe Linder is connected in any way to the four shootings, three of which were fatal, that authorities have linked to Sharpe.

Sharpe has been accused in the string of shootings within a 25-mile radius over a four-month period earlier this year. Travis said Linder and Sharpe had previously been dating, but he did not know if they are still together.

Alleged East Feliciana serial killer pleads not guilty Tuesday to charges in two of four shootings

Suspected serial killer Ryan Sharpe — who is accused of a string of four shootings in two parishes —  pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning to two of the charges against him in East Feliciana Parish in the July fatal shooting of Tommy Bass, 62, and September shooting of 47-year-old Buck Hornsby, who survived.

For his first court appearance since his October arrest, Sharpe, 36, was brought to Clinton in an East Feliciana Sheriff’s SUV, with both his ankles and wrists constrained. He wore an orange jumpsuit and had a new goatee.

Sharpe listened to his arraignment of second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder charges in the Bass and Hornsby cases with no reaction or change of expression.

State District Court Judge William Carmichael set Sharpe’s next hearing for Jan. 9, for his arraignment of the first-degree murder charge in the October slaying of 48-year-old Brad DeFranceschi. Carmichael will also determine then if Sharpe has enough funds

Rifle found in alleged East Feliciana serial killer’s home matches bullets from 2 shootings, arrest warrant says

Investigators have matched bullets from two fatal shootings to a rifle found inside the home of alleged East Feliciana serial killer Ryan Sharpe, who was arrested last week in those two shootings and two others that have occurred in the Clinton area since July, according to an arrest warrant filed Wednesday by the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office.

An analysis by the Louisiana State Police crime lab determined that bullets from the killings of Carroll Breeden, 66, and Brad DeFranceschi, 48, were fired from the rifle, the warrant says. Investigators had previously matched the bullets themselves but had not yet announced their connection to a particular weapon.

Officials said in the warrant that Sharpe confessed to killing Breeden and DeFranceschi in addition to Thomas Bass. He also confessed to shooting 47-year-old Buck Hornsby, who was wounded but survived. All four men were shot outside during the day within 25 miles of each other

New information on possible motive of alleged East Feliciana serial killer postpones grand jury until November

The grand jury set for Tuesday in East Feliciana Parish for alleged serial killer Ryan Sharpe has been continued until November after investigators received new information Monday they believe could give insight into the 36-year-old’s motive, said 20th Judicial District Attorney Sam D’Aquilla.

D’Aquilla, whose district covers East and West Feliciana parishes, had hoped to indict Sharpe on Tuesday in the slayings of two Clinton-area men and the non-fatal shooting of a third man, all of which happened since July. The district attorney said he believes he had enough evidence to indict Sharpe on first-degree murder, second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in the three shootings, but said the delay will give investigators more time to strengthen the case against Sharpe.

D’Aquilla declined to indicate details about the new information other than to say it involves Sharpe’s motive.

Greg Phares, chief criminal deputy for the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office, also declined to comment on the

Possible East Feliciana serial killer suspected in 3 fatal shootings makes court appearance

A Clinton man suspected in three fatal drive-by shootings — one in East Baton Rouge Parish and two in neighboring East Feliciana Parish — made his first court appearance Thursday morning in East Baton Rouge after being captured the night before following a police chase.

Ryan Sharpe, 36, appeared in a video hookup from Parish Prison wearing an orange jumpsuit and listened quietly as 19th Judicial District Court Commissioner Quintillis Lawrence, who sat in the court’s Bail Bond Program office, told Sharpe he is charged in East Baton Rouge with first-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting and illegal use of a firearm.
