Roommate of alleged East Feliciana serial killer arrested; authorities say she stole thousands from him

A woman who was living with alleged East Feliciana serial killer Ryan Sharpe was arrested last week in the theft of at least $14,500 from his safe.

Robin Linder, 54, was booked Dec. 8 into East Feliciana Parish Jail on a count of felony theft, according to East Feliciana Parish Clerk of Court records. Her listed address matches that of Sharpe, at 14277 La. 959.

Sheriff Jeff Travis said Linder broke into the safe to steal several thousand dollars from Sharpe, 36. However, Travis emphasized that investigators do not believe Linder is connected in any way to the four shootings, three of which were fatal, that authorities have linked to Sharpe.

Sharpe has been accused in the string of shootings within a 25-mile radius over a four-month period earlier this year. Travis said Linder and Sharpe had previously been dating, but he did not know if they are still together.

Grand jury indicts alleged Baton Rouge serial killer Kenneth Gleason on murder charges

Kenneth James Gleason, a white man accused of fatally shooting two black men and firing into the home of a black family in three separate September incidents, was indicted Thursday afternoon by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury.

Gleason, 23, is charged with one count each of second-degree murder and first-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder in the incidents police have described as possibly racially motivated.

The grand jury’s indictment on first-degree murder in the slaying of 49-year-old Donald Smart gives prosecutors the opportunity to seek the death penalty, but East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore III said they have not yet decided if they will.

Moore reiterated there is no need to prove Gleason’s motive to reach a conviction on the charges. Moore said he will continue to rely on the “substantial” evidence collected that links Gleason to the crimes, which includes DNA, surveillance videos, purchasing

Alleged Florida Serial Killer Arrested: What We Know

Tampa police may have ended a six-week hunt for a serial killer when they arrested former St John’s University basketball player Howell Emanuel Donaldson III earlier this week. The 24-year-old McDonald’s crew leader was taken into custody at the fast food restaurant near the city’s Seminole Heights neighborhood, where he allegedly shot four people to death and sent law enforcement and residents into panic over the past two months.

On Wednesday, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who refrained from using the term serial killer during the investigation, told reporters during a press conference

Never before used law may apply to two alleged serial killer cases

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –

They’re two men who were operating at the same time — Kenneth Gleason focused on the Baton Rouge area with two murders just two days apart and Ryan Sharpe focused in the East Feliciana Parish area with three murders and one attempted in a matter of three months.

The question now is how will the district attorneys in both cases proceed.

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore said there is a fairly new provision they’re considering.

“In the serial killer provision, that came about several years ago when following the Sean Vincent Gillis case. Our office thought that the state of Louisiana needed a serial-type, a repeat murder-type of provision and we went to the legislature and had that provision passed,” said Moore.

Under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:30, or the first-degree murder statute, paragraph 11 is what

How a McDonald’s food bag led Tampa police to alleged serial killer

A McDonald’s bag that Howell Donaldson III handed to his colleague at the fast-food restaurant where he worked in Tampa was the key piece of evidence that led police to the alleged serial killer, authorities said today.

A person identified as “Witness 3” approached a police officer at the McDonald’s restaurant in Tampa’s Ybor City neighborhood Tuesday afternoon to tell them that an employee, Donaldson, gave them a “McDonald’s food bag” and said he planned to leave the state, according to a criminal report affidavit filed early today in Florida’s Hillsborough County.

Inside the bag was a .40-caliber Glock firearm loaded with SIG brand Smith and Wesson ammunition — the same weapon used in a string of mysterious slayings over the past six weeks in Tampa’s Seminole Heights neighborhood, officials said.

That gun was what investigators needed to identify the alleged killer, Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan told reporters at a news conference
